Most things in life are about 80 percent mental and 20 percent physical. Would you like to lose weight, stop smoking, eat healthier, stop procrastinating, improve sports performance, speak confidently in public, or eliminate stress, allergies, phobias, or pain? Trust me. There is a better way to feel better without having to take costly drugs with even costlier side effects.

Hi, I'm board certified Clincal Hypnotherapist, Stephanie Conkle. I provide expert hypnotherapy services you can believe in!  Hypnotherapy utilizes the subconscious mind to achieve personal success far easier and quicker than with will power alone for anyone who is looking to change life for the better, easily and effortlessly. Now, how wonderful is that? Call me today for a free consultation

I will help you remove mental blocks, overcome fears and phobias, release certain addictions, and reduce or remove pain completely. Together, we can overcome virtually anything that is mental (which is just about everything) so you can enjoy your best life now. Contact me today!

I get reactions all the time from satisfied clients and receive testimonials such as, "What you did with me in one session would have taken months to achieve with my regular psychiatrist."  I've even heard, "My regular psychiatrist has praised me on the dramatic change in me.  I just let him think he healed me, but I know it was really you."  (See my testimonials then call or email me when you are ready for a change!)

Of course, I love hearing all the wonderful complements from my trusted hypnotherapy clients.  It does wonders for my ego, but It's not me that works the magic. It's YOU!  It is the hypnotic process that works within you when you are ready to change. I am simply the instrument that helps you taps into your internal resources and wisdom you already have deep within yourself.

Doesn't hypnosis sound great? Research it and you will find overwhelming evidence of millions of cases that have been treated and succeffully resolved with hypnosis alone.

Sadly, many people still don't use hypnosis as their main form of trusted therapy because of all of the gross misinformation that has surrounded it for years.  See my Hypnosis FAQ page to dispel any myths you might have about it. And call me if you have any questions.

Not only can you take hypnosis seriously, but once you have experienced it for yourself, I bet you will wish you had known about it earlier–and you may choose to continue to benefit from its use for the rest of your life.

Would you like to step up your workout routine, accomplish a business goal, have perfect recall when taking a test, improve your memory, be able to relax under pressure, improve your love life, or have more confidence? With hypnosis there is a quick and easy solution to virtually any need!

The beauty of hypnosis is you don't have to see a traditional therapist for years on end. As a matter of fact, that's not the way our brains work. In order to produce effective change, the brain needs to take in information quickly, repeatedly, and in patterns. In other words, the brain learns by programming (neuronal repatterning). Positive lasting results take effect immediately through the power of hypnosis!

My job is to get people into a healthy state of mind and provide tools that will make you feel, act, and look better now! We can release the past and create a happy (and lasting) lifestyle for the present and future in much less time than with a traditional "talk" therapist. Of course "talk" therapy has it's place–but trust me–if you're ready for the much quicker "results" therapy–hypnotherapy is right for you!

As a matter of fact, hypnosis is the easiest way of making fundamental changes because all you have to do is sit back, relax, and allow the process to work. How wonderful is that? So, are you ready to get started? You can be happy now! (You really can.)

I am available for private sessions in the greater Atlanta area (see Sessions and Fees), or choose from a variety of CDs and audio downloads, and let me hypnotize you from the comfort of your own home (see my HypnoStore). Call me now!

empty-toilet-paper-roll

You know that feeling when you're sitting on the commode, finished with your business, just need to wipe and go…. suddenly you reach over to grab for the toilet paper and you find yourself staring in shock at a bare brown tube of cardboard, wondering why you didn't think to check it before you sat down? Yeah that feeling. Well, that happened to me this morning. (Stay with me…there is a lesson in everything.)

I called out to my children in vain desperation to bring me a roll of TP. They were either out of earshot or ignoring me. (Funny, I could hear THEM just fine.)  I began frantically searching around the bathroom, trying to figure out what I could use as a makeshift wipe able, ("What if I turned the hand towel inside out? Hmm… No. Okay, calm down. Take a breath.") Something in the back of my mind told me to look under the sink cabinet. Upon opening the doors, to my blissful relief, a wonderfully huge pack of white fluffy goodness was waiting for me. I was so thankful that my Past Self thought about my Present/Future Self's happiness and contentment.

When I thought of my "Past Self" chills ran down my arm because it felt like "She" was an entity almost separate from my Present Self and Future Self. That little moment reminded me of all the times my Past Self had set up little things for my Present/Future Self, including setting up savings accounts, paying for insurance plans, updating my website to draw in more clients, et cetera.

I sent that wonderful entity lots of gratitude for thinking of me and my future well being. She reminded me she's still here and if I will use her more often I will reap more benefits in the future. So I thought to myself, what's one thing I can do today to help my Future Self succeed? (Thus the blog update. lol!) And I will strive to do at least one good thing for myself everyday whether it's personal or business related.

What's one thing you will do today to help your Future Self succeed?

Off-Matching

by Stephanie

jobinterview

Here is a tip you can use to persuade the subconscious mind of others to like you, and give you another edge over your competitors. This method causes the person interviewing you to think you are just like him at the level below awareness.  And it’s so simple. Earlier we talked about modeling behavior and physicality to get into rapport. And this is similar but even more subtle. I call this technique Off-Matching. This is akin to Mirroring but much more subtle.

If possible, find the one thing that makes the interviewee unique and mirror that back to her. For instance, when I was interviewing for a much better job with a much higher pay grade within my own company, I knew the woman who I would be working directly under was known around the office as the Flower Lady to people who did not know her name. She was called the Flower Lady because she wore a big bright flower on her lapel every day that made her stand out. It was a different one each day. Some people loved it and others made fun of it—but no one dared made fun of it to her face because this was a tough business woman not to be messed with—and many people would try to ingratiate themselves to her by giving her compliments on her flower lapel, (rather insincere I might add), including other applicants, and she would smile and say thank you…but I did something different.

On the day of my direct interview with this lady, I wore the biggest gaudiest broach I could find in my jewelry box. (The biggest one I could find was a dragon fly and not a flower, so that would have to do. But that was okay because I did not want it to be obvious that I was mimicking her.) Subtly is key. I wore a suit that matched hers…a younger looking fashion because she was 30 years my senior…but the same type of suit. A pant suit. Blouse. Blazer with big lapels. Crowned with my big beautiful broach.

Although I was tempted to say something, I stayed absolutely quiet about her flower pin until about midway through the interview when SHE complimented my broach! Woo hoo! At that point, I thanked her and complimented hers back using similar phraseology she used on me…but only when she spoke of mine first. That little gesture gave me an edge I needed. By the way, I got the job. Later I was to find out she was going to hire her boyfriend’s daughter and was only interviewing people within the company due to HR protocol. But she chose me instead! I beat out “almost-nepotism”—yeees! (Well, my strategies did anyway.) Was I more qualified for the job than the other dozens of people she interviewed? Probably not. Was I more likeable than her boyfriend’s daughter? Not sure, but she didn’t know me at all other than from my resume and interview. Why did she hire me? I persuaded her. Not with just the broach, but with all the techniques mentioned throughout this book…yet the broach was very important indeed…and I believe it had a big hand in helping me win the “getting myself hired” game. (By the way, treat interviewing as a game of strategy and take the stress and pressure off of you.)

So, what if you are a man interviewing for this position? You could not very well wear a broach, but you could wear a funky looking tie pin that stands out…or a funky looking tie for that matter…or a classy tie with roses on it. Just something that makes you stand out…and here is the key…Just. Like. Her. Of course this works if you know a little bit about the person interviewing you. If not, just stick with the other rapport methods mentioned earlier. By using this method, the person subconsciously thinks this person has spunk like me and is not afraid to show it. And if someone is perceived to be “just like me,” she is going to be more trusting of that person to get the job done, especially the type person who thinks the job isn’t done right unless he does it himself. Right? Yes!

YoGabbaGabbaCast

My children watch this annoying little show called Yo Gabba Gabba. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's not terrible. It's fairly educational in a very simplistic way. The characters in oversized costumes look like things of nightmares and the show's producers somehow get throw back 80s indie bands to play with the–parents obviously trying too hard from an old complex to make sheik television children who, undoubtedly, the throw back references are lost on them–as they learn about life's little lessons on fairness, persevering, sharing, biting, brushing your teeth, and, well, you get the idea.

Perhaps the most annoying thing about the show, and the most brilliant, is the little lesson songs the characters sing. Using no harmony whatsoever, or anything else to break up the musical monotony, they play the lyrics over and over again, agonizingly repetitious, until it gets drilled into your brain (which the subconscious mind LOVES and remembers!)

Add the number of times the lyric is played in one episode, times that by the number of times they air that same dang episode a day, times the number of times they play it a week and you have got yourself hypnosis by rote and osmosis. Luckily the songs are about how it's not good to bite your friends and not about having your parents dole out hard earned cash to buy something for the kid he or she doesn't really need, like many of the commercials on the network the show is aired on does.

So tonight I found myself lying in bed earlier, sick, awake, and wondering why I stopped blogging. After negating all my "good excuses" of how busy I was, I finally determined that I just gave up. As soon as I had that thought, an annoying little Yo Gabba Gabba "Keep Trying" earwig popped into my brain. It goes like this…"Keep trrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyiiiiiing. Keep trrrrrrrrrryyyyying. Don't give up. Never give up. Keep trrrrrrrrrrrying. Keep trrrrrrrrrrying. Don't give up. Never give up! You'll get it right!" Followed by "Don't stop!" (Now repeat that ad nauseam and you get the idea.) Here is the video link if you really want to see what I mean…http://www.nickjr.com/kids-videos/yo-gabba-keep-trying.html

So, even though I have what I think to be strep and a low grade fever, I sit and write this blog because I realized in bed…my subconscious mind told me…don't give up. Never give up. Keep trying. Keep trying. You'll get it right. Don't stop! (Thanks Yo Gabba Gabba.) So here I am. I also came to the realization that I don't have to have something clever to write about. I just have to write. Take my "Road Less Travelled" and see where it leads. And, of course, don't give up. Never give up.

What do you need to keep trying? Please feel free to share your ideas in the comment fields below if you want. I love reading feedback and especially your very own thoughts and feelings.

Love and blessing to all who read this,

HypnoSteph

p.s. Blog=check! Okay, now I'm getting back under the covers to fight off this cold.

p.p.s. Forgive typos, misspellings, weird sentence constructions, etc. I'm blaming it on the cold!

You have super powers!

by Stephanie

Yes, you do! We can learn a lot about ourselves from observing the behavior of children…especially our own!  I am working hard at instilling an "I can do anything I set my mind to" attitude in my own children, but to my dismay, I will hear the dreaded "I can't" phrase pop up from time […]
